SHELL is that, but it slows everything down. Keeps the stakes personal. There isn’t a robot war. The fate of humanity isn’t called into question. Our existential crises is a teenage girl, NOT ready for the hefty dose of real life, that being a new mother brings.

Taylor and Caspian learn and teach each other. About the human condition. Flaws. Intricacies. Joy. Pain. They become a family. Not by blood. Not even by organic material.

I wanted to tell a scifi story that intentionally limited the scifi. That’s a character study, through and through. A very human story, told with non-human lenses.
